Teaching Science

When I want to learn new things, I don’t just resort to written media: I enjoy watching explainer videos, looking at visual representations, or even playing educational games. To me, a successful teacher can keep their audience interested not only through the content of what they teach, but also through the way they bring new information to students.

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” -Albert Einstein

In this category, I wanted to compile some of my experiments with all types of media as I addressed a lay audience.

The first artifact is my final oral presentation for the second course of Stanford’s Program in Writing and Rhetoric, in which I explore some educational theories on how to effectively teach Mathematics. It is followed by a dashboard on the functioning of the European Union, an explainer video that vulgarizes a brand new artificial intelligence technique, and an educational game to teach middle school students about Information Theory.
